David Gill

David Gill

David Gill, his wife Lynn, their son James (16) and daughter Julie (14) moved to Bellingham in the
summer of 2014 so that David could teach engineering at WWU. Soon after arriving, they began
attending Hillcrest Church and became members the following year. Early on, the Gill family was
blessed to be part of a small group led by the Simms and Wines. In their second year at Hillcrest, the
Gills started leading a small group in their home that continues strongly today. David also helps in the
sound booth at Hillcrest. In their previous church in Albuquerque, NM, David was an elder on the
church council for 6 years during which he experienced the great joy and the terrific challenges that can
come with church leadership. In that role, the importance of prayer, Bible study, and listening for God’s
voice was very important through both good and hard times. David stands ready to serve on the
Hillcrest Council if selected and looks forward to further reliance on God’s strength in this role.
Lynn works with a campus ministry called InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and is grateful to the church
for its support to this mission into universities.  In his free-ish time, David is a mentor for the Sehome
robotics team, attends lots of Julie’s and James’ sporting and music events, and enjoys running through
the forest after their dog who patiently waits for the slow, gasping human to catch up.
