My wife, Wendy, and I have been regular attenders of Hillcrest for about ten years. We’ve had many
opportunities to form great relationships and Hillcrest Church is our home. We’re blessed to have many
of our family members attending as well, which makes it feel even more like home.
We have two terrific boys: Logan, 13, and Kaden, 10. It’s been fun to see them grow up in Treasureland
(with their cousins as their teachers) and now have Logan teaching there as well. Logan attends Kulshan
Middle School and Kaden is at Geneva Elementary and they keep busy with various sports and other activities.
I grew up in Bellingham. My professional background is in accounting and finance. I spent 20 years in
the Haggen organization (in the stores in High School and College and then at the corporate level
afterwards) working my way up through the accounting department and then, after the company was
sold, as Director of Finance and Director of Pricing. For the last seven years I’ve been with the Lynden
Door organization as the Chief Administrative Officer with responsibility for Accounting, Finance, HR,
and IT. It’s a great place to work and I particularly appreciate the Christian principles upon which it is
run.
Outside of work and the busy life of a young(ish) family, Wendy and I have had some fun opportunities
to volunteer, both at Hillcrest and elsewhere. Wendy gets her baby-holding fix in the nursery at
Hillcrest, while I read bible stories to the 4-5 year-olds in Treasureland. Wendy was the PTA President at
Geneva for a few years, but now spends some of her time taking care of an 18 month old and I serve on
the Finance and Audit Committee of the WWU Foundation (my alma matter) and the Hillcrest Finance
Committee. I also had the chance to serve on the Hillcrest Nominating Committee in 2018 with a
fabulous group of people.
