Greeting from Pastors: Christian and Tim
We love college students!
We’ve had a connection with the local colleges and universities for over 50 years! Students, professors, and administrative staff from Western Washington University, Whatcom Community College, Bellingham, Technical College, and Skagit Valley College attend here. These people and our relationships with them have added an incredible richness to our church community. We are thankful for the ways students bring life and energy, ask incredibly good questions, and press us to continue to connect faith with the big issues of our day. If you’re a student checking out Hillcrest, we hope you would consider making this your church home during your college years!
Below are some links on how to find us on Sunday morning, what to expect from a worship service, and past teachings you can check out.
Ways to get connected
The first place we’d encourage you to connect is with our AMAZING campus ministries on Western, Whatcom, and Skagit’s campuses. Campus Christian Fellowship has weekly worship times and small group experiences on each campus.
One of the best ways to get plugged in here is to join a small group of 8 – 18 people who meet every week or two to share life, follow Jesus, and be on Jesus’ mission together. We have both ongoing small groups and short term study groups. Follow the link below to see what groups are currently available and to learn more.
Over the years a number of college students have been some of our best leaders in our kids and youth ministries. Our ministry to elementary school kids and younger is called Treasureland. Our ministry to middle and high school students is called 412. If you are interested in learning more about either of these, follow the link below.
Other ways to connect
Above are just a few of the many ways college students can get plugged in and grow at Hillcrest. You could also be involved with the worship or tech teams, serve at our Food Bank, or work at our Hillcrest Kids Early Learning Center. And if you are looking for a way to connect that you haven’t seen yet or simply have questions for us, feel free to fill out a Community Card and let us know what you’re looking for. We’d love to help!
